Sage joined the Gorge Commission in September 2023 as a part-time Natural Resource Planner and transitioned to the Vital Signs Program Manager where her natural resources and data analysis background are put to good use. With a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington, a master’s degree in Environmental Science and Management from Portland State University, and ongoing work on a PhD at Portland State University, her academic background fuels her passion for preserving our natural treasures.
Sage’s expertise in mountain hydrology and in-built water systems engineering strengthens our conservation efforts by providing a holistic view of human interaction with the natural world. Her current research focuses on the forest fire impacts to snow hydrology, and her professional background includes work on large water system design, planning projects, and data analysis. She is excited to implement her interdisciplinary approach and love for the outdoors to support and protect the beauty and richness of the Columbia River Gorge.
Outside of work, Sage can be found planning kayaking adventures, exploring local trails, or skiing with friends.
