Rodger is a fifth-generation Oregonian with a background as a reporter for both radio and newspapers. He covered the Gorge Commission for The Dalles Chronicle and Gorge Country Media for six years before being appointed Wasco County’s member of the Commission. He served 12 years from 2011 to 2023, and was reappointed to the Wasco County position in May 2025. He is an enthusiastic numismatist (coin collector), science fiction fan, and author interviewer, with over 875 interviews conducted so far.
