Commissioner Steve Hochman

Steve Hochman has spent his 30-year career balancing environmental, economic, and community interests. A birder since childhood, Steve co-founded the Global Environmental Management Initiative, a consortium of Fortune 50 companies focused on environmental quality management, and led supply chain strategy and business transformation at Nike while partnering with sustainability teams. Steve earned a degree in Earth Sciences from Dartmouth and an MBA from Stanford.

Steve currently leads North America operations for Nagarro, a $1 billion global technology services firm, and lives and works in Hood River.

With 30 years of experience in the Gorge and deep appreciation for the region’s 1986 National Scenic Area designation, he is deeply committed to the Commission’s dual mandate of preservation and economic vitality. He was appointed to the Gorge Commission by Hood River County in December 2025.
