Natural Resources & Land Use Planner
Jessica Olson joined the planning team at the Gorge Commission in June as the Natural Resources Planner. Jessica brings a background in wildlife biology, habitat management, and GIS-based conservation planning to her new role in the Gorge. She received a B.S. in Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at UC Santa Cruz and her M.S. in Environmental Science & Policy at Northern Arizona University.
Jessica spent the past eight years in Flagstaff, Arizona, as the Regional Habitat Specialist for the AZ Game & Fish Department and serving on various local and regional conservation planning teams including the City of Flagstaff’s Open Space Commission, Coconino County Comprehensive Plan Science Advisory Group, Intermountain West Joint Venture State Conservation Partnership, and Four Forests Restoration Initiative Multi-Party Monitoring Board. She is thrilled to be living and working in the scenic area, where there are endless opportunities to work with partners to protect this landscape – and where there are so many waterfalls!
